William Davenport Vernier Compass

Philadelphia, Circa 1800

This compass has a beautifully-engraved eagle fleur de lis. The compass measures 14 1/2 inches long with a 6 inch compass box and 5 3/4 inch sight vanes. It is a complete outfit with a 2-pole chain and stakes. The chain is in excellent condition with all tallies present. One sight vane is a correct period replacement.
